The AbilityOne Program is a federal program to assist people who are blind or have other significant disabilities find employment by working within a national network of Nonprofit Agencies that sell products and services to the U.S. government.

This program is intended for nonprofit agencies that provide employment opportunities and training to people who are blind or have significant disabilities.

The U.S, AbilityOne Commission administers the AbilityOne Program through two Central Nonprofit Agencies, the National Industries for the Blind (NIB) and SourceAmerica, which provide support to a network of community-based nonprofit agencies. Nonprofit agencies must associate with either NIB or SourceAmerica to participate in the program. At least 75% of an agency’s total direct labor hours must be performed by people who are blind or who have other significant disabilities.
